The first colds and flus of the season are going around these days.  Acupuncture can be a great tool in helping you get well and stay well, but sometimes it is better to stay home and rest.  If you are sick or coming down with something, please read this whole post before making or canceling your acupuncture appointment.
  • Acupuncture is great at boosting immunity so that you are less likely to catch colds and flus. It can also help you fight something off if you catch it early.
  • If you are consistently exposed through work or otherwise, consider making regular acupuncture part of your cold and flu season prevention routine.
  • If you think you may have been exposed to the latest bug or feel like you are starting to come down with something, come in for a treatment to give your body some extra support.
  • Acupuncture can help shorten the length of time that you stay sick, make your symptoms less severe, clear up any lingering symptoms, and help improve your congestion, breathing, cough, sore throat, low energy, etc. And if you’re worried about coughing in the treatment room, thank you for considering others, and please know that we can use acupuncture to ease your cough right away so that you and everyone else can rest.

If you think you have a fever and/or are experiencing really acute symptoms and/or an episode of vomiting or diarrhea, please stay home and rest, hydrate, and take care of yourself. You may consider consulting your primary care provider if any of your symptoms are severe or prolonged.

Let’s all help each other stay healthy through the season.
